Unity One-day Introduction Workshop
Creating interactive 3D content has never been easier. An intense one day workshop where we'll get a chance play with Unity (http://unity3d.com/), a user friendly, multi-platform game development tool. Patrik Svensson from Copenhagen based company shiftcontrol (http://shiftcontrol.dk) will showcase some of the work they've done with Unity and teach the basics of the program.

If you are interested in attending please RSVP with Andres Pang () before November 9th.

Part 1 - Unity showcase
The first part of the workshop is devoted to showing what Unity can do. We've used Unity on a wide range of projects, from data & architectural visualization, media installations to VJ applications and we'll take a closer look at a selection of those projects to see what makes them tick.

Part 2 - Hands on tutorials
A series of short tutorials where students get a chance to familiarize themselves with Unity. We'll cover the basics and look at the building blocks for creating interactive content. Students should get enough insight into the tool to be able to start experimenting on their own.

Part 2 will cover the following topics:
1. Editor Basics.
2. Assets workflow - importing & using models, textures & sound. Prefabs.
3. Animation.
4. Scripting - Languages. Basic interactivity.
5. Graphics - Lights, shadows, materials.
5. Physics - Rigidbodies, colliders & joints.
6. GUI.

Part 3 - Assignment / one on one guidance
A simple game assignment will be given where students get a chance to explore the topics from part 2 on their own. Alternatively students can choose to work on a project of their own that makes use of Unity.

Part 4 - Q&A
